Good Vocoder songs to cover??

For Xmas I'm getting a Korg MS2000, and it has a 16-band vocoder. Since I'm home, all my old friends and I are probably gonna get in some time in Basement Shitfloor Studios (Mike's basement with the tascam tape-based 8-track) and I'm wondering what covers to record. So far on the list are:
No Parking On The Dance Floor
Freakazoid
Planet Rock
Around THe World
We Are The Robots
California Love
that Cher song.

What else should we do while we're at it?

drink water, not beer

Is that a song to cover or advice? If it's advice, that's kinda creepy, because just before I checked this thread I finished my 5th Cuba Libre and poured myself a nice cold heiny. Weird. you got a spycam on me or something?

"From Here to Eternity" by Giorgio Morodor!!!

Well, it's not all vocoder; mainly just on the intro and outro. But still ... I mean just on sheer fucking yes-ness alone... what a stomper...

Don't sweat the drinkies.. just poured my third martini myself (gotta love the holidays - no work = yay)

Okey doke. I just reviewed my posts and I think that J.D's response was to the 11 month total I racked up at the Black Cat on Beer. OK. Man, don't confuse me whe I've been drinking.

Mr. Diamond, Dude, what would the holidays be with out like 14 or 15 servings of holiday cheer a night anyhow, right? I gotta watch it tomorrow when I get home though. I have a tendancy to try and keep up with my dad, he drinks like 14 beers a day (3 before his 7 mile daily jog and the rest after). I've only seen him like 4 times in my life. He and I sit, watch TV, drink beer, 4 hours into it I'm plastered, and he's sauteing mushrooms, garlic and onions for a 6pm pasta dinner. I love Xmas.

"Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger"!

I'll admit, Gluecifer are from Norway. I think that they should combine Finland, Sweden, and Norway should do the UK thing, and all be one country called United Scandinavian Kingdom, so I can just say "which USK band kicks more ass" and not look like a moron.

I'll also admot that the only time I go online to look at more than hot naked teenage vixens is when I'm drunk. All email checking, HomeStar Runner watching, Nothing Nice To Say reading, and I Love Music posting is done drunk.

Oh, thought of some more:

'Heartbreaker' - Zapp
'Do You feel Like we Do' - Frampton
that one Tupac song

Dude, your dad sounds killer. My kind of guy. Yeah, I basically decided to get wasted tonight so that all the drinking I do over the next three days will just get me back to normal (maintenance drinking).

Yeah, he's a good guy. Flipped out and cut off college funds and kicked me out of the house (thus I joined the USAF) when he found out I smoked pot (said I was a bad influence on the lil bro & sis), but now that I'm earning my own salary and paying for my own shit he's the coolest guy ever (not sarcastic, he's actually a really cool and supportive guy to me now, maybe it's the Top Secret clearance I have). Helluva fucking chef too. I've been watching Emerill and Good Eats everyday for 9 months now though, so I'm gonna have a little Iron Chef match with him tommorow when I get home though...

Helltime Producto (Pavlik), Tuesday, 24 December 2002 08:33 (twenty-three years ago)

I love Good Eats. That guy is so over the top. He really trips me out, but he's so really informative about stuff you'd be embarrassed to ask your foodie friends about. Emeril I can do without though. Hows that for indie 'tude?

Well, you certainly are shunning the more popular artist there. Both have taught me great stuff, but it's because of Alton Brown that my thanksgiving turkey got injected with a melted-butter/white wine mixture and blasted in the oven at 500 degrees for teh first 30 minutes (then down to 325 of course for the last few hours) to give it a really crispy skin and really juicey meat.

"Numbers" from Computer World? That's what I'd do.

For even more fun I recommend the Steinberg Voice Machine VST plugin / VSTi. The most fun I've had so far is getting rap acapellas and giving them chirpy, chirpy melodies.

For Xmas I'm getting a Korg MS2000, and it has a 16-band vocoder.

yer gonna make mike hanle y cry in jealousy!

anyway, i'd say "computer world" but someone already did ... and besides, Sonic Youth already did a cover of "computer world" (though w/t a vocoder)

Tad (llamasfur), Tuesday, 24 December 2002 15:32 (twenty-three years ago)

I want to do a vocoder version of "Wichita Lineman" and call it "Digital Lineman".

dog latin (dog latin), Tuesday, 24 December 2002 16:01 (twenty-three years ago)

whoops, i meant "computer age," the neil young song ... though "computer world" -- the kraftwerk song -- would be pretty cool to cover, too

Tad (llamasfur), Tuesday, 24 December 2002 16:17 (twenty-three years ago)

Trans Am - "Futureworld"
