geeg, Thursday, 13 March 2003 05:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, I thought at first she was giving HIM something but I think she was after an autograph.I like Jay Leno after that,"Thanks Lads"!

Scott Seward, Thursday, 13 March 2003 05:41 (twenty-three years ago)

It's tape delayed in the Mountain Time Zone. How late into the show is he on?

David Beckhouse (David Beckhouse), Thursday, 13 March 2003 05:43 (twenty-three years ago)

he's right at the end...yo you've gotta stay up, and figure out whats goin on between fran and him

geeg, Thursday, 13 March 2003 05:44 (twenty-three years ago)

oi dont mug myself

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 13 March 2003 05:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Did anyone catch Elvis Costello hosting the David Letterman show!? Very weird, cuz I can't remember anyone ever subbing for him.Letterman was sick apparently. After Elvis got done with "What's so funny bout peace, love and understanding" he utters,"We'll be right back after these capitalistic messages"! He's rad! Plus,he added something about mothers and babies to the middle of the song.

Scott Seward, Thursday, 13 March 2003 05:46 (twenty-three years ago)

oops, didn't see that other thread. Sorry. Later.

Scott Seward, Thursday, 13 March 2003 05:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Costello hosting an hour on HSN > Streets on Leno.

paul cox (paul cox), Thursday, 13 March 2003 05:49 (twenty-three years ago)

It was quite the night on american t.v. for geezers and...what the hell do ya call Elvis? A duffer?

Scott Seward, Thursday, 13 March 2003 05:52 (twenty-three years ago)

But seriously is Fran Drescher sexy...who knows?

Is her unmatched cosmic-annoyingness acutally infectiously sexual?

geeg, Thursday, 13 March 2003 05:52 (twenty-three years ago)

She's totally hot.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 13 March 2003 05:52 (twenty-three years ago)

and will she hook up on the next streets album

geeg, Thursday, 13 March 2003 05:53 (twenty-three years ago)

This has got to be the first time I've watched Leno in at least 5 years, he's horrible.

David Beckhouse (David Beckhouse), Thursday, 13 March 2003 05:54 (twenty-three years ago)

and will she hook up on the next streets album

oi vey

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 13 March 2003 05:55 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought it was bizarre how Leno said,"You look great, you're so skinny"! Isn't she recovering from cancer or was that a long time ago?

Scott Seward, Thursday, 13 March 2003 05:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah he's is totally unreal to watch...its kinda weird how he alternates from exruciating '50s style milton berlesque comedy, to often creepy and grossly innappropriate jabs and isults

geeg, Thursday, 13 March 2003 05:58 (twenty-three years ago)

He's utterly clueless. There's a panic in his eyes when a conversation veers a little too close to not-entirely-insipid, usually accompanied by lots of "Uh, uh, hm, yeah, so..." I actually find him painful to watch.

Amateurist (amateurist), Thursday, 13 March 2003 06:03 (twenty-three years ago)

I actually found Elvis C. refreshing compared to has-been Letterman. He was weird and quick. Him and Eddie Izzard had the most convoluted conversation I've seen on t.v. in years.

Scott Seward, Thursday, 13 March 2003 06:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Did anyone tape this? I was watching Leno.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 13 March 2003 06:09 (twenty-three years ago)

Leno's like some very eager student of comedy who got the technical side of things down pretty well but there's nothing backing it up. Without the script he just disappears.

David Beckhouse (David Beckhouse), Thursday, 13 March 2003 06:09 (twenty-three years ago)

The izzard interview was spectacular and there was def. the sense of two technicians trying to come to a mutual discourse -- like they were trying to see how their tips of the trade could go back & forth.

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Thursday, 13 March 2003 06:12 (twenty-three years ago)

eddie izzard is pure comedy gold. it was kind of sad that the audience didnt get all of his jokes

while watching costello do peace love + understanding i had the thought that the old man schtick he carried through his youth has served him quite well

now that he IS an old man he doesnt look or sound any worse for the wear

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 13 March 2003 06:16 (twenty-three years ago)

i saw Bruce Willis filling in for Letterman on ITV2 the other week - he wasnt too bad...but the whole Letterman format is so tired now isnt it? i dont know how these shows survive

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 13 March 2003 10:27 (twenty-three years ago)

I dig the fact fran hasn't appreciably aged in what, 25 years?

Nathan Webb (Nathan Webb), Thursday, 13 March 2003 10:59 (twenty-three years ago)

and will she hook up on the next streets album

Maybe Polymor Records will put out the next Streets album.

Vic Funk, Thursday, 13 March 2003 12:08 (twenty-three years ago)
