...any period/genre - but please give as many details as possible i.e. song/artist/album. I carried out a thread search to see if this has been done (exhaustively) before but only found a few scattered references. What I really crave is an almighty list. I'm sure we're all agreed that autumnal = a period of incipient decline (Merriam-Webster's Online Dictionary); when fruits and crops become ripe and are gathered, and leaves fall (Cambridge Dictionaries Online); [characterised by] a serene mood (Ultralingua.net); ineffable melancholy; romance/nostalgia.

Lets' go!

(Or not).

"Glancing Away" by Disco Inferno (from Science 12" EP) (1991) - this, to me, is quintessentially autumnal music.

I always find the Cocteau Twins to sound rather autumnal.

"On Saturday Afternoons in 1963" Rickie Lee Jones fits for me. Nostalgia / melancholy / bitter sweet melody

Thanks to all who have replied to this (evidently old-hat) thread, but especially to Scott S. for the links to the five identical threads. Sorry; I really should've done my research a little more thoroughly. Reading some of the lists people have suggested, I can see that I'm clearly not alone in associating certain songs with this season. Excellent work, chums.
