the madonna comparison is kinda interesting, because we would have to assume that britney would have the savy and intelligence that madonna did inorder to "re-invent" herself the number of times that she did.

i don't think that britney has that, you have to look at her career arc compared to madonna, so much of britney was being pushed by momagers and mickey mouse clubs and sing/dance lessons and so forth until she found herself famous at 18. madonna, on the other hand, is almost totally self made, leaving college to fight for attention tooth and nail in new york. i mean, did you ever see that tv show where she goes back to her old pre fame apartment that was approx the size of a closet?
