Die Hard right up top. That's what I like to see.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Friday, 23 January 2004 06:19 (twenty-two years ago)

The only thing wrong with Die Hard = they should have shot an alternative ending for cynics like me, where Alan Rickman's character wins!

Pashmina (Pashmina), Friday, 23 January 2004 12:30 (twenty-two years ago)

No Peckinpah, Walter Hill or Kathryn Bigelow?

so:

the Wild Bunch

The Getaway

Southern Comfort

Point Break

also:

the Professionals (Richard Brooks)

Leon

the Matrix

David Nolan (David N.), Friday, 23 January 2004 22:58 (twenty-two years ago)

So far, this list is a joke.

McBain ||| Classic Film or Superhuman Achievement?

The only action hero.

dean! (deangulberry), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 01:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Two sorely missing from this list: Rio Bravo and the remake Assault on Precinct 13.

Eric H. (Eric H.), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 02:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I might be committing heresy, but I think as a pure action film, Temple of Doom beats Raiders of the Lost Ark all to hell.

Have you seen Temple recently? It's not the same movie you saw as a kid. I must admit to loving Last Crusade -- the Indy/Dad dialogue (from Tom Stoppard, I think) is classic.

"I'm Gonna Get You, Sucka"

The post ends, right there.

A lot of 'em do. So do a lot of the worst ones too.

Mil, Sunday, 6 June 2004 07:07 (twenty-two years ago)

The Road Warrior! But of course! Best Western of the 80s.
